Removable dental replacements, or dentures, are a common service that we provide for our clients. We provide both complete dentures (for when all teeth are missing) and partial dentures (for when some teeth are missing).

There are both conventional and immediate dentures. Conventional dentures are made after the teeth have been removed and are placed 8 to 12 weeks after removal. Immediate dentures are made in advance and can be positioned as soon as the teeth are removed.

Patients may need dentures for a variety of reasons. We promise to communicate with you throughout the process in order to provide you with the best dental care possible.

Dentures can solve a wide range of problems for patients who have had their teeth removed. Dentures can allow patients to use their mouths more normally again, like they were able to before losing their teeth.

A removable partial denture is an optimal solution for patients who may be missing one or more teeth in a particular area of the mouth. Removable partial dentures are attached to a gum-colored base which may have a metal framework in place to hold it in place against the surrounding teeth. These dentures work to replace missing teeth, restore functionality, and improve oral health that may have been previously compromised by missing teeth. When a tooth is lost and the gap is left unfilled, the neighboring teeth may begin to shift significantly. This can alter your bite and may even result in long-term damage to your gums and jaw.

Removable partial dentures are a less invasive procedure to replace and restore missing teeth than alternative solutions. While they are more cost-effective and less invasive than implants, removable partial dentures do require more upkeep and maintenance. Due to the nature of these dentures being removable and essentially resting on your gums, they will need to be cleaned just as much as your natural teeth in order to keep your gums healthy and dentures looking as good as new. Factors such as oral hygiene, location of missing tooth, bone strength, and long-term viability for implants all play an important role in determining your treatment plan.

After we determine removable partial dentures are the best option for you, we can begin treatment. Our team will start by taking dental impressions of your teeth so that we can custom-make your dentures and use the molds appropriately. Next, we will review the size, shape, and coloring of each tooth replacement to recreate your natural smile. Once this process is over, we will send our findings to a dental lab so a mock-up partial denture can be made for a fitting.

During your fitting appointment, our team will work with you to test how the mock-up dentures fit, look, and feel in your mouth. We will make any adjustments to the fit and color during this time before sending the mock-ups back for alterations. It is important that you be honest during the fitting as your feedback determines the final result of your dentures.

Once the final changes have been made to the mock-up, the lab will custom build your permanent dentures. After we receive the final design, we will have a last fitting session for any small adjustments for comfort, bite or fit which can be made in-office by our team.
